Wire EDM

Description

In the photos above, our company name “EXCERA” was created on an aluminum sheet using a wire processing machine.

Machining Details

Wire electric discharge machining is one of the electric discharge machining methods, in which workpieces are processed with fine copper-tungsten wires (mainly Φ0.2, Φ0.25) using the electric discharge machining to achieve fine and highly precise processing.

The workpiece is processed with fine copper tungsten wire (mainly Φ0.2, Φ0.25) using the electrical discharge machining to achieve fine, high-precision processing. Since the workpiece and wire do not come into contact with each other, there is no need for grinding or cutting.

The wire is not in contact with the workpiece, so no direct force is applied to the workpiece as in the case of grinding or cutting, making fine processing easy.

Since this is electric discharge machining, the workpiece must be conductive, but even hard materials such as cemented carbide can be processed.

Tapered, gear-shaped, and top-bottom irregularly shaped workpieces can also be processed.

Features

■Thin metals can be easily processed due to the non-contact nature of the process.

■Since electric discharge processing is used, it is possible to process even hard materials such as cemented carbide.

■Although there are some limitations with 2D shapes, it is possible to perform fine machining and achieve a surface roughness of approximately Ra0.2.
